‘The Chemistry of Politics’ is an ongoing blog series by biological anthropologist and chief scientific advisor to Chemistry.com, Dr. Helen Fisher. Her research is based off of the Chemistry.com personality test, taken by over 10 million people worldwide.

The Chemistry.com Personality Test, created by biological anthropologist Dr. Helen Fisher, provides scientific insight into why people are the way they are and do the things they do. According to Dr. Fisher’s research, there are four main brain systems that make up personality: Testosterone, Estrogen, Serotonin and Dopamine. Each person is a unique mix of all four brain systems, but some express different chemicals more prevalently than others, affecting their personality accordingly. With the election in a matter of days, Dr. Fisher explored the personalities and leadership styles of presidential candidates Barack Obama and Mitt Romney to give voters better insight into who the candidates are behind closed doors.
